Meet the team

Will Sheffield

“My dad first reared turkeys in 1950 and I plucked my first turkey age 9, so turkey farming is something I’ve always known.”

Will runs the farm day to day, rearing the turkeys, managing their food, water, barns and pasture to keep them safe and growing well, as naturally and sustainably as possible.

Kim Sheffield

“I work for a climate tech company called BX that helps farmers understand and improve their environmental impact. Being part of the family farm means I can relate to the farmers I speak to every day, and the work I do for BX means I can bring ideas back to Meadow Brook on how we can build a sustainable farm for the future.”

Kim manages the social media, turkey logistics and delivery driving!

Alice Sheffield

“I work for England Rugby as an Operations Manager day-to-day. When I’m not travelling with rugby teams, I make sure I get back on the farm and help as often as I can.”

Alice manages the website, turkey logistics and delivery driving!

Meadow Brook Farm is home to Meadow Brook Turkeys and is owned and run independently by Will Sheffield and family, since 2010, previously known as Sheffield Farms. At Meadow Brook Farm we have new purpose-built turkey sheds and a new custom-built processing, packing and despatching unit resulting in zero food miles for all the birds and maintaining the highest husbandry, welfare and food hygiene standards. Take a look at our Newsletter page to follow the farm’s progress and learn more.

Our Free-Range Turkeys are repeat winners as “Champion Turkey” at the South East Marts Winter Fayre and prize winners at Ashford Christmas Fat Stock show.

We will be selling our turkeys online and they will be available for collection from our farm gate, other local farm shops and a growing number of local butchers. See our Trade page if you would like to find out more.

All our turkeys are free range, and are brooded under heat for the first 4 weeks. They are then gradually introduced to the outside world until they reach the point where they spend all of their daylight hours on pasture and are shut into straw bedded housing overnight which gives protection against predators.

As well as what they can forage out on the herb rich pastures, they're fed on a complete ration of cereals, natural oils and protein crops. They are a slow growing breed, maturing naturally after 6 months or so.

We also rear a small number of barn-reared White Turkeys which are brooded in the same way as the Bronze turkeys and then reared in open yards on deep straw beds.
